WWII-Era 9th Regiment Infantry Table Lighter
Ceramic figural table lighter molded in the form of a small tankard, decorated in raised relief with an eagle-and-cannon motif and regimental insignia reading "9th Regt" and "Infantry." Finished in a palette of black, ochre, and gilt tones, the body is topped with an integrated metal lighter mechanism set flush into the rim, combining sculptural detail with utilitarian design.
Table lighters bearing specific regimental identification were popular mid-century souvenirs, often purchased by servicemen or their families as commemorative keepsakes. Produced in large numbers during and after World War II, these objects blended patriotic symbolism with everyday desktop function, serving as reminders of service, unit pride, and postwar identity.
Shows surface wear consistent with age, including minor glaze loss, small chips, and rubbing to raised details. Lighter mechanism is present but untested and may require a new flint. Sold as-is without fuel.
